How we can overcome the challenge of preserving the environmental and social quality of life for the generations to come

We aim to shape a sustainable future for both our people and our environment relying on principles of quality, integrity and reliability.

As a medium-sized, family-run company, AGROLAB assumes a great deal of responsibility for the present and the future. We are committed to defending food safety, sustainable agriculture, the quality of groundwater and drinking water and the protection of terrestrial ecosystems. This is reflected in all our commercial services.

The AGROLAB GROUP laboratories:

  • participate in the supply of clean and hygienic drinking water
  • participate in food quality through the testing of nutrients and contaminants
  • participate in the animal welfare through extensive testing of feed products
  • assist in the remediation of contaminated sites and soils
  • ensure waste management is performed in an ecologically friendly way and in line with legislation
  • support farmers with agricultural soil testing to ensure a more sustainable use of resources and to protect groundwater quality for the next generations
  • control the quality of agricultural products and guarantee quality-dependent, fair payment for the farmers

What do we believe in?

We trust that, through consistent actions, we can work together for a more sustainable future.

The values that shape who we are

quality, integrity and reliability are amongst our core values. They are firmly embedded in the company’s guiding principles and philosophy and are everyday reality.

At AGROLAB, integrity is about constantly following ethical values and principles. It is about being honest and open – this applies both to ourselves and to others. Integrity involves sticking to our word and always being prepared to act in the right way, even in spite of difficulties or drawbacks. In a business context, that means complying with business ethics and moral standards.

In this context, economy, ecology, and social aspects constitute three crucial pillars of sustainability and are integral components of our corporate philosophy.

ECONOMIC

ENVIROMENTAL

SOCIAL ASPECTS

We break down these three pillars of sustainability into key areas of action. This way, we make sure that we can implement targeted measures with even greater precision and distinction.

AGROLAB GROUP's sustainability areas are:

We would like to invite you who read these lines, to join us in overcoming the greatest challenge we are facing today: To live and act sustainably every day – for the sake of next generations and for a future worth living. Together, we can make the best possible contribution – collaboratively, committed, and trustfully.

Where are we, as AGROLAB GROUP, willing and able to take responsibility and make our contribution?

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals set out by the UN Global Compact underpin all of our sustainability areas and actions. We support the efforts of the European Green Deal with the aim of achieving complete climate neutrality by 2050 and fully back the Paris Climate Protection Agreement.

(Reduction of CO₂ emissions)

Human beings are part of an integrated and global food chain and life cycle. Our dependence on resources such as air, soil and drinking water, as well as the impacts of climate change, trigger the urgent need to prioritise the responsible use of these resources and the reduction of greenhouse gases within our company objectives. The aim of AGROLAB’s strategic climate protection is to manage our resources with care and caution, conserve and protect them and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Resource efficiency

Resource efficiency

Resource and waste management go hand in hand. As natural resources such as soil, wood and water are constantly depleting, the amount of waste must be drastically reduced.

Analysing all work processes and internal workflows form the basis for both waste and cost-saving measures, such as achieving the “paperless laboratory of the future.”

Wherever waste cannot be avoided, we largely encourage sorting, recovery and recycling. We also apply the 17 principles of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in the area of resource efficiency.

An integrated company culture means, for us, a culture that encompasses all aspects of the company and its stakeholders. This includes financial targets as well as social, ecological and ethical aspects. Our main goal is to achieve the right balance between the well-being of our employees, satisfaction of our customers, ecological sustainability, social responsibility and economic stability.

At the AGROLAB GROUP, each individual is unique. Therefore, we advocate diversity and equality, regardless of background, ethnicity, religion, gender or sexuality. We expect all employees to make the best possible effort to fulfil their daily tasks and overcome the challenges they face for the benefit of the company, sustainability and society as a whole. In this context, we place great value on personal responsibility, dedication and the ideas and suggestions of every individual.

Global interconnections and interdependencies have never been more apparent than in recent years.

We therefore see it as an urgent task to fight hunger and to promote education. We want to make a meaningful contribution. The specifics of this contribution will depend heavily on current needs.

Clearly, however, our focus is on education and helping people to help themselves.

We endeavour to establish long-term partnerships, but also intervene to provide short-term support when quick and straightforward help is needed. Many of our employees are already actively involved in various organisations and institutions.

AGROLAB GROUP also provides support in this sense and welcomes ideas and suggestions from within its own team.
